is a collection of "compressed" fantasy contests based on the Grand Sumo Tournament in Japan. The duration of each contest varies, with the shortest lasting one day and the longest being hosted as a fifteen day tournament.
Participants start by choosing a contest they would like to enter, then draft six wrestlers called rikishi, from the Makuuchi top division using a salary cap system. By bestowing a Power Card on their favored wrestler, fantasy participants can earn double points. Points are scored based on the wrestlers'' performances in the Makuuchi top division matches. The winner of the fantasy game is chosen based on the accumulated points earned by each wrestler on a participant''s fantasy team.
Contest types include:
50/50: Cash prize is split equally among the top 50% of ranking participants.
Winner Takes All: Cash prize is given to the top ranked participant.
Head-to-Head: Two participants face off and the participant with the highest points wins the cash prize.
Daily Fantasy Sumo is now available online at and will eventually be available as an iOS and Android smartphone app.
