Visual storytellers use many elements to shape the emotional reaction of their viewers, and the color of light is a powerful tool that can help creative professionals create the right atmosphere. While lens choice and composition, as well as the size and style of the light source, are some of the most common considerations made when setting up a scene, the color of the lights is an equally important, but frequently overlooked, consideration.

Attendees will learn how to use lighting gels to infuse scenes and images with subtle or extreme colors. Daniel will shoot the same scene three times, and will change the color of the lights and the way the actors react each time. The same general lighting scheme will be maintained, blocking for the actors and camera angles.

Aside from learning how to use color to add depth and emotion to their scenes and images, attendees will also learn the most useful lighting gels to add to their kits.

Attendees are encouraged to come armed with questions, their cameras, and the desire to be inspired.
