New Sharing Economy Idea on Kickstarter Wants to Provide a New Way to Holiday

(firmenpresse) - If RoomsForever and AirBnB had a child, that would be RoomsForever. RoomsForever is the latest sharing economy idea to seek funding on Kickstarter. The P2P revolution has changed the world. There is no doubt that the future is share-able. Whether that is sharing a ride, sharing a meal, or sharing a flat, the future will look very different than those past. Holidays are expensive. They are also necessary for the preservation of sanity for many. Being able to travel the world and experience it not as a tourist but as someone who lives in a particular place enables the traveler to really absorb the culture. The idea behind RoomsForever is to enable people to pool their money, similar to a timeshare, in order to purchase flats in major tourist cities all over the world.
“We love traveling and we love using AirBnB,” says Raffaele Iovine “but it has its limits. You are still in another person’s home and are sharing that space with them. The same is true some of the others that enable people to trade flats or rooms. We wanted to tap into what works for timeshares, but make it more of a true ownership, as well as, expand it. You’re buying into more than one location when you use this service. That means for your money you can now go use a flat in London, Tokyo or wherever suits.”
The idea is to provide travelers and freelancers who want to visit the world’s major cities or tourist attractions with cheap accommodations, by enabling them to buy into a real estate pool. The money from the Kickstarter will be used to find the purchase of a studio-flats in major city centers around the world. Each person who invests will have one week a year to stay in any location they choose. The studios will all be smartphone enabled so all it requires is the phone’s key. They are looking for $309, 249 to start the project and have supplied backers with travel items such as watches, ties, and luggage as perks.
