The Sound of Music to Play Two Weeks at Boston Opera House
The new Broadway revival of “The Sound of Music†will visit Boston’s classic Opera House for a two-week engagement beginning March 29. Tickets are available for all shows.

O''Brien has stripped away many of the elements that have been added to The Sound of Music over the years, he says, and has focused instead on keeping it as true to the original Rodgers and Hammerstein production as possible. The award-winning producer is also enthused about the choice of Anderson to play the lead role, Maria.
€œI''ve always believed Maria was a €œstar-making" part," he said, describing his introduction to Anderson. €œIn through the audition door walked Kerstin Anderson€¦she sand and the tears welled up in my eyes. If ever there were an enchanting young woman on the brink of discovery, this was it!"
