With the spo-book SQUARE 15 slim, spo-comm is launching the new model of its successful Panel-PC
(PresseBox) - The PC with multi-touch display, which has been developed in cooperation with MSI IPC (MS-9A91), has been given an even more elegant and slim design. High-quality hardware and passive cooling facilitate long-term industrial use.
Robust hardware for continuous use in industrial environment
The spo-book SQUARE 15 slim is the latest development of the range launched in 2013, which excels through a large number of connection options and a compact, robust metal housing. In addition, the front of the panel PC conforms to IP65 protection standard, which means that it is impervious to dust and water spray. The spo-book SQUARE 15 slim is also suitable for use in an extended temperature range from 0°C to 50°C without any problems. Top-quality components facilitate continuous use in an industrial environment ? 24/7 under extreme conditions.
Scratch-resistant multi-touch panel
Apart from the elegant and high-quality design, the embedded PC incorporates a projected-capacitive 10-point multi-touch panel that allows operator control by touch and gesture. The scratch-resistant surface coating with a hardness level of 7 can cope with conditions in rough environments. With a size of 418 x 271 millimetres and a high resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, the 16:9 format screen is suitable for a diverse range of applications ? with a mounting depth of a mere 60 millimetres.
Maximum performance combined with low power consumption
The good performance of the spo-book SQUARE 15 slim is ensured by the 1.91 gigahertz Intel quad-core processor E3845 based on Bay Trail. In combination with up to 8 gigabyte of RAM, high-resolution contents no longer present a problem ? a level of performance that is unprecedented in the Atom world. At the same time, the industry PC excels through low power consumption and a TDP of a mere 10 watt. In conjunction with use of an SSD hard drive, the fanless cooling that this allows makes for quiet and emission-free operation.
Choice of software
As is the case with all spo-books, there is a choice of operating systems available, which means that the panel PC can be integrated easily into existing IT landscapes. The spo-book SQUARE 15 slim can thus be delivered with Windows 7, 8 or 10. The options further include Windows Embedded, which can be custom-programmed for specialist applications, as well as a free Linux distribution.
Expanded range of connections
The wide range of connection options of the series is continued with the spo-book SQUARE 15 slim and expanded further. For connecting external peripherals or storage media to the mini-PC, there are two gigabit LAN interfaces, four USB ports, one of them the latest 3.0 type, as well as a DIO port available. VGA, an audio port and an optional W-LAN module extend the range of possible applications.
With the spo-book SQUARE 15 slim, spo-comm and MSI IPC have developed a PC that is suitable for diverse applications and is of particular interest for the areas of industrial control, measuring and point of sale (POS). The industry PC will be available from 1st March and can be ordered from spo-comm.de suitably configured for the intended application.
