IoT Edge Gateway ODM solutions: Cooperation between two specialists
(PresseBox) - TQ is showing in cooperation with Gemalto a modular gateway solution as a basis for individual, customized products to enable ?Secure IoT?. TQ, an embedded specialist and service provider for electronic assemblies and systems, is hereby concentrating on topics such as processor technology, hardware and systems integration for ODM products. Gemalto, the world leader in digital security, enables back-end services, security and industrial-grade global mobile connectivity on 2G/3G/LTE networks. This combination offers an optimal basis for Enterprise IoT and Industry 4.0 solutions and brings together the world of M2M and IoT.
The hardware platform is based on TQ?s MSys embedded solution tool kit with the energy efficient, high-performance Intel Atom E3800 at its heart. The MSys is equipped with 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x USB (3.0/2.0), 2x RS-232 and two monitor outputs, as well as upgrade options for any type of field buses (e.g. CAN, ProfiNet, ProfiBus, DeviceNet, LIN, LON). On top of 2G/3G/LTE wireless connectivity, MSys integrates radio standards such as WLAN, Bluetooth, EnOcean and Zigbee. Combining these interface options, the MSys offers the utmost flexibility for customized IoT edge solutions. Various types of sensors and devices, as well as local, self-contained networks can therefore be connected in an easy way.
A TPM (Trusted Platform Module) allows for Secure Boot and authentication while Gemalto?s Sentinel technology enables hardware-based software protection and encrypted communication. Secure wireless access is established through Gemalto?s rugged Cinterion® connectivity module. This package enables comprehensive protection at all application and system levels and reliably prevents data manipulation and system intrusion.
The connection to Gemalto?s M2M IoT Cloud Services via embedded agent technology enables easy remote access to the gateway, as well as the connected devices and sensors. Real-time access to gateway parameters, such as network status, geolocation and operational information like utilization and temperatures, offer a high level of service friendliness for the operator. Data access and control of connected actuators and systems can be programmed and parametrized automatically. APIs for Windows and Linux are available, which simplify the implementation of applications.
As an electronics service provider (E²MS supplier and CEM) TQ offers the complete range of services from development, through production and service right up to product life cycle management. The services cover assemblies, equipment and systems including hardware, software and mechanics. Customers can obtain all services from TQ on a modular basis as individual services and also as a complete package according to their individual requirements. Standard products such as finished microcontroller modules (minimodules), drive and automation solutions complete the range of services.
Through the combination of electronics services and finished system components, TQ offers customer-specific products as ODM products and thereby addresses customers who would like to receive finished products and at the same time benefit from the advantages of a customer-specific solution. ODM products are provided on time and economically using a comprehensive solution kit. The kit includes finished electronic, mechanical and software components including certification and licenses.
The TQ Group employs approx. 1,400 colleagues at their 13 sites (11 x Germany, 1 x Switzerland, 1 x China).
