The Government of Canada Demonstrates Commitment to Openness and Transparency by Releasing New Information to the Parliamentary Budget Officer on Budget 2012 Reductions

Today, the Government of Canada provided the Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) with additional information it had requested about the broad budget reductions announced in Budget 2012.
Guided by the principle that government information belongs to all Canadians, the Government of Canada continues to raise the bar for openness and transparency. The release of this information is another step in that direction.
The President of the Treasury Board intends to meet with the Parliamentary Budget Officer to discuss how the Government can work more collaboratively in responding to the PBO''s information requests.
