MSC Technologies integrates 6th generation Intel Core processors into its compact NanoServer embedded systems
(PresseBox) - MSC Technologies, a company of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), delivers its compact NanoServer® embedded systems with 6th generation Intel® Core? processors of the Desktop and the low-power Desktop series (former codenamed Skylake), and the Intel® Q-170 chipset. MSC Technologies offers its NanoServer® family in the three variants NN, N1 and N2 that differ in the number of free slots. In addition to the 58 mm slimline NanoServer® NN without slot, the N1 with one PCI Express? slot and the N2 with two expansion slots are available. The key components are selected with the aim of ensuring continuous operation (24/7) in the industrial environment.
The scalable embedded systems are assembled with the processor variants Intel® Core? i7-6700(TE), i5-6500(TE) or i3-6100(TE) with two or four CPU cores. Depending on the processor type, Intel® vPro, Intel® 64, the Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x), the Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d), the Intel® Trusted Execution Technology, Intel® Advanced Encryption Standard AES-NI, and the Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 are supported. The on-chip Intel® HD Graphics Gen. 9 supports DirectX® 12, OpenGL 4.4, and OpenCL? 2.x. Three independent displays with a maximum resolution of 4K can be controlled.
Numerous integrated security features e.g. a secure Boot process, password protection, and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, ensure the protection against an unauthorized access. The DDR4 memory is expandable via two SODIMM sockets up to a capacity of 32 GB. External connectors include 2 x GB LAN (IEEE1588), four USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports each, RS232, DVI-D, and 2 x DisplayPort V1.2. A broad range of 2.5 inch HDDs or SSDs, and mSATA SSDs serve as mass storage.
On customer request, the modular NanoServer® systems can be adapted quickly with optimized cost to special application requirements. The Box PCs are manufactured at MSC''s factory in Freiburg, which specializes in manufacturing small and large batches flexibly and on short notice.
