(firmenpresse) - SAINT-ARMAND, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 02/11/16 -- Canada Border Services Agency

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today that travellers entering Canada via the newly rebuilt border crossing at Morses Line now benefit from extended hours of service as a result of a new that makes travel more convenient. During the pilot, travellers who arrive at the Morses Line port of entry (POE) after staffed hours of service will be processed by an off-site border services officer.

The officer will be located at the CBSA Telephone Reporting Centre and travellers will be processed through a kiosk equipped with two-way audio and one-way video. During staffed hours, travellers will be processed by an officer at the POE per normal procedures.

The pilot will allow the CBSA to test the viability and potential benefits of remote traveller processing as a way to maintain border security while expanding border access for legitimate travellers between Canada and the United States (U.S.).
