The UK, Buckinghamshire-based steel band now provides do-it-yourself PA and lighting system hire, compatible with clients’ personal iPads, iPhones and laptops, for limited budgets.

Small, family-run entertainment company Steelasophical fronted by Gary Trotman is a full-time, professional Caribbean-inspired steel drum band. Its area of service in the UK covers Buckinghamshire, Essex, London, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Wight, Wales and Northern Ireland. Entertainment services provided include Steel Band, Caribbean mobile DJ, MC, jukebox and vocals, including managing bookings for vocalist Evrod Cottoy. The band has made TV appearances, its music has been featured in James Bond 007 film Casino Royale and its albums sell world-wide.
A new service it has recently introduced is do-it-yourself lighting and PA hire, compatible with iPads and laptops. The speakers are lightweight and portable and there are two sound-to-light effects. Clients simply plug it into their own equipment and they''re ready to play their own music mix, compatible with iPod, MP3 player, iPhone, laptop or CD player. Steelasophical expects that this will be a popular alternative to hiring a live DJ where customers are on a limited budget.
Steelasophical is popular not just for its professional sound and Caribbean expertise, it also performs in many other genres, such as pop, reggae, Latin, Motown, blues, jazz, modern, ''middle of the road'' and some classical.
