Kodak Alaris Names Winners of 30th Annual KODAK Gallery Elite Award
(firmenpresse) - ROCHESTER, NY and ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/11/16 -- Kodak Alaris unveiled the winners of the KODAK Gallery Elite Awards at (I-USA), the annual conference and trade show of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). This year marks the 30th anniversary of the award, which honors photographers who are members of PPA and have used KODAK PROFESSIONAL Photographic Paper in the final production and presentation of their art. Kodak Alaris will showcase professional prints of the four winning images in its booth, #1820, at I-USA Jan. 10-12, 2016.
Kimberly Smith, of , was named this year''s grand prize winner for her photograph, Breakfast in Bed. The winning image from the Muskogee, OK-based photographer, who specializes in school and family portraiture, features three sleeping parakeets atop a stack of cups and saucers. The judges selected Smith''s photograph because of its beautiful, soft tones and for bringing four very ordinary images together to create a spectacular piece of art.
"For 30 years, the KODAK Gallery Elite Award has recognized the technical skill and artistry of PPA''s top professional photographers," said Christopher S. Van Zandt, Vice President & General Manager, Paper & Output Systems, Americas Region, Kodak Alaris. "The winning photographers and their photographs were selected by a panel of experienced PP of A Judges and demonstrate how working with a professional lab and using KODAK PROFESSIONAL Photographic Papers can enhance the beauty, longevity, and quality of professional photography."
In addition to Smith, three photographers received KODAK Gallery Elite Awards:
2nd Place: , , Olympia, WA for Daily Grind
3rd Place: , , Wilton, IA for Queen of Hearts
4th Place: , , Germantown, IL for Knocked Out
Each winner will receive the KODAK Gallery Elite crystal trophy and a cash prize. Professional prints of the winning images will be on display in the Kodak Alaris I-USA booth, and featured in promotional materials. Electronic files of the winning images will also be posted online at the .
Any PPA state or district winner of a KODAK Gallery Award, who also printed and submitted their image on any of the various KODAK PROFESSIONAL Photographic Papers was eligible to compete for the KODAK Gallery Elite Award.
