(firmenpresse) - Author and sports concussion healing expert Dr. Joanny Liu has released a controversial review of Will Smith''s new movie €œConcussion." The review emphasizes the ineffective approach of MD neurologists based on patients'' typical results and examines the movie''s handling of the topic. Liu''s goal is to shift the discussion from diagnosis to effective healing of athletes suffering from concussion or Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) via a proven holistic method.

According to the CDC, the number of concussions reported has doubled in the last decade, reaching epidemic levels. €œTraumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability in the United States, contributing to about 30% of all injury deaths€¦. In 2010 €¦ TBI contributed to the deaths of more than 50,000 people" ([http://www.cdc.gov/traumaticbraininjury/get_the_fa...](http://www.cdc.gov/traumaticbraininjury/get_the_facts.html)).

Says Dr. Liu in her review, €œI get the fact that Dr. Bennet Omalu is a hardworking, dedicated pathologist. I get that he wants to help. What I don''t get is the way conventional medicine studies disease and likes naming it instead of looking for solutions€¦. There''s this wonderful wealth of knowledge gained over the last 20 years by research in neuroscience, neuropsychology and neuroplasticity. But it''s not being applied."

NCBI, the National Center for Biotechnology Information agrees. €œAlthough concussion is a common sports injury, there are few published data on effective treatments" ([http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC335978...](http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3359788/)).

In her practice, Dr. Liu teaches her €œstudents," or patients, how to use the mind to reverse degenerative effects of concussion and PCS and heal the brain, a proactive application of neuroplasticity, as part of her holistic treatment. News outlets including ABC, CBS, €œThe Boston Globe" and the €œMiami Herald" have quoted Dr. Liu''s clinically proven views on effective treatment of concussions.

Her review continues, €œWe use a process that was created inside a clinical practice. It was developed after several years and seeing positive and quick results. We can stop the deterioration of the brain (and body) because of what we know about how thoughts and emotions can change the brain, for good and for bad."
