Cool Technologies Readies Its Heat Removal Technology to Enter Water and Waste Water Markets

ID: 1405035

(firmenpresse) - TAMPA, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 12/17/15 -- Cool Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: WARM), an innovator in motor and generator power improvements, energy efficiency, and heat removal technologies, announced today that their revolutionary electric motor for dry pit submersible pump applications has entered the final stages of development. The designs are complete and the patented cooling technology will move to the pre-production phase.

The company has chosen Nidec Manufacturing Solutions and ESSCO Pumps as its manufacturing partners to bring the product to market.

The production motor components will be ordered after the first of the year (2016) with assembly and final preproduction checks to begin shortly thereafter. After the pre-production samples meet approved industry standards, the company will schedule the first production run of 25 motors to fill the initial purchase order of 25 dry pit submersibles with full production to follow. The motors will range from 5 to 50 hp. After that, the company will bring to market 1/2 to 5 hp dry pits in the 140TY frame size to fill an industry void left by ABB (Baldor/Reliance Electric).

An electric motor designed to run either submerged or dry is known as a dry-pit submersible. To ensure continuous operation, the motor must be surrounded with liquid to cool it, whether the outside environment is wet or dry. Consequently, dry-pit submersibles require very costly leak proof metal enclosures for the motors along with pumping systems to circulate the liquid inside. Even among industry leaders, this cooling technology is at least 20 years old.

Cool Technologies patented cooling system eliminates the need for these costly modifications. Manufacturers no longer need to add water jackets, blowers, additional pumps and cooling solutions.

Cool Technologies system is passive and has been tested and validated by two third parties: ESSCO Pumps and Nidec Corporation.

Cool Technologies'' CEO and co-founder, Timothy Hassett, notes, "Third party tests have shown that our patented thermal dispersion technology will not only eliminate the need for more costly designs, it will increase motor efficiency by at least 1-2 points and enable the motor to put out far more horsepower than motors of the same size and weight."

Dry pit submersibles are used in many applications from pump stations to contractor pumps as well as aeration for treatment plants and golf course ponds. Coastal municipalities have been increasing their purchases to help handle storm drainage. As a result, dry pit submersible pumps are being sold in ever larger horsepower and discharge sizes.

"The application of our heat removal technology in dry pit submersibles is simply the first of many applications," added Mr. Hassett. "The global waste water industry is a $30 billion market which encompasses far more than municipal utilities, but also mining, dredging, industrial, aeration, decorative, drinking and oil drilling."
