FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, Participating in the Launch of Global Competition for Young Professionals

(firmenpresse) - PARIS, FRANCE and NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/23/15 -- The International Ethics Standards (IES) Coalition, a fast-growing group of 60 global professional bodies which includes FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, and which spans land, real estate, construction and infrastructure, today launched a global ethics competition.

The aims to capture thought-provoking ideas from young people to help stimulate fresh thinking about the role ethics can play in the future of real estate and related professions.

Built environment students and young professionals are being asked to consider the relationship between successful business and ethical conduct and how ethical values can be placed at the heart of businesses in these sectors.

Tony Grant FRICS, Past World President of FIABCI and Deputy Chair of the International Ethics Standards Coalition, said: "This is an exciting competition. We want to capture the ideas and powerful messages of young people and produce compelling communications content that provokes even wider debate about the role that ethics plays in business."

The IES Coalition was set up during a meeting at the United Nations in New York in 2014 and is working to create the first international ethics standards for land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. The standards are scheduled to be published worldwide during 2016.

The best Communicating Ethics entries will feature in a multi-media presentation and all participants will be fully credited. The winner will receive a monetary prize of $250* or currency equivalent and be profiled on the IES website alongside shortlisted candidates.

Eligible participants simply have to email answers to one or more of the five competition questions (outlined in the IES Competition Questionnaire) in no more than 100 words. All written entries must be emailed to with a head and shoulders photo by Filmed answers must also be submitted by this date and be clearly labelled (see explanatory note and competition questionnaire).

NOTES to Editors

IES is being developed and implemented by a growing international Coalition of leading property professional bodies and trade organisations, representing professionals across the world''s multi-trillion dollar property sector.

The global IES Coalition represents many thousands of qualified property professionals from around the world. The Coalition appointed a Standards Setting Committee (SSC) consisting of independent experts who will draft and consult on the new International Ethics Standards. The standards will consist of high-level principles which will be implemented through codes of conduct owned by Coalition organisations.

IES will benefit all stakeholders with an interest in property by creating a common language for ethics and shared understanding about the standards of conduct which real estate professionals should work to.
