Brookfield Residential Joins HomeAid San Diego to Collect Clothing During Homeless Awareness Month
(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/16/15 -- San Diego homebuilder Brookfield Residential is teaming up with HomeAid San Diego to provide warm clothing, blankets and necessities to families in need this holiday season during Homeless Awareness Month in November.
According to HomeAid San Diego, an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 people are without a home on any given night in San Diego County. Particularly at risk are foster children -- nearly one-third become homeless in the 12 months after emancipation.
"We have the power to positively impact the lives of our neighbors," says Adrian Foley, HomeAid Director and Western Region President for Brookfield Residential. "A simple act such as providing a blanket or care kit can provide warmth for someone throughout the holiday season."
Items needed include: blankets, sleeping bags, socks, jackets and coats, warm pants, sweaters, scarves, gloves, shoes and boots, deodorant, soap, travel razors, plastic rain ponchos, Chap Stick, shampoo, cream rinse, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and combs.
The public is invited to drop off donations at Brookfield Residential''s office located at 12265 El Camino Real, Ste. 180 in San Diego. Financial donations are also appreciated. All donations are tax deductible, and will be distributed by HomeAid to some of San Diego''s most at-risk families. Donations will be collected throughout the month of November.
