The Portworx PWX demo will be hosted in the company''s Sandbox, a live cluster hosted in Amazon Web Services that allows users to see how a truly software-defined, container-centric data center would function. The Sandbox allows the deployment of stateful services directly from a private repository or the Docker hub and supports the creation and scaling of container instances to use these services.
Portworx PWX is a scale-out block storage implementation of the OpenStorage specification for deploying infrastructure as code. The solution is a complete container defined infrastructure software stack, running on commodity x86 hardware that includes scheduling, storage and networking. Portworx PWX handles the overall clustering and scheduling of all containerized services via a software-driven approach on commodity servers or Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Applications for PWX are in DevOps, Hadoop applications and scale-out web apps.
