Neoverse Short Story Writing Competition Opens Today
Neoglyphic Entertainment Seeks Creative Fiction in All Genres; $3,500 in Cash Prizes and Guaranteed Publishing

The is open to authors from any genre who have pieces of original creative fiction between 1,000 and 5,000 words. Unusually for a new writing competition, the prize money is on par with much larger and more established competitions, with a total prize pool of $3,500, and $2,000 going to first place.

Safronoff identifies several common problems with average writing competitions, such as required fee for entry, attendance at a PR event to receive your prize, and draconian conditions regarding copyright ownership. "Our goal is to empower storytellers by giving them the opportunity and platform for their stories to be read by industry professionals, and also to possibly win some cash. Most importantly, the winning entries will be published by us, in digital and print."
The Neoverse Competition also solves the inefficiency of other writing competitions, which often rely on manual judging processes like printing manuscripts and collating handwritten feedback. The team at Neoglyphic Entertainment developed a custom e-reader app that securely sends entries to relevant judges, whose feedback and immediate reactions are captured in real-time. The result is that judging times can be cut down from months to weeks or even days.
