Mezzo-Soprano Carly Paoli Given Standing Ovations at Leading U.S. Venues
British Singer Wows in Concerts at Carnegie Hall and Boston's Jordan Hall
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 11/02/15 -- British mezzo-soprano Carly Paoli rounded off her American performances with a standing ovation at Boston''s Jordan Hall on Saturday night.
The 26 year old classical singer, who was given a standing ovation at New York''s Carnegie Hall on October 27, followed her US return with a second hugely successful show at Jordan Hall on October 31.
Miss Paoli said afterwards: "I was thrilled to be part of such a magical and inspiring evening of incredible music and I want to thank the audience for their overwhelming support. I feel blessed to have performed at two of America''s most prestigious venues, and to have been welcomed with such a warm reception, in the course of a single week."
Miss Paoli performed thanks to EMMA for PEACE, the Euro Mediterranean Music Academy, a not for profit global organization, and was supported on both dates by the Korean Chamber Orchestra, currently on their 50th anniversary world tour.
The Jordan Hall concert, which was also part of the 70th anniversary celebration of world heritage organization, UNESCO, opened with Kurt Weil''s ''What Good Would the Moon Be?'' followed by Gershwin classic, ''Someone to Watch Over Me''.
Those were followed by Ferdinand Obradors'' rousing ''El Vito'', ''Del Cabello Más Sutil'' and a new version of ''Ave Maria'', accompanied by UNESCO Artist for Peace, violinist Ino Mirkovic, with Sergey Smbatyan conducting.
''Ave Maria'', written especially for Miss Paoli by Romano Musumarra, included new lyrics by British songwriter Grant Black, son of Oscar winning Bond theme lyricist Don Black.
After a standing ovation the singer, looking stunning in a floor length gown, returned to the stage for an encore, performing ''One Bright Star'' by Dominic Haslan.
Miss Paoli''s American successes come three months after she hosted Caracalla for Unicef, a fundraising concert at Rome''s Terme di Caracalla in Rome in July.
The event saw the star perform with Three Tenors'' legend Jose Carreras and celebrated tenor Andrea Bocelli, at the same venue where the first Three Tenors concert took place in 1991.
In June Ms. Paoli performed for Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle, and in September she was on stage again at The Fight Night Gala in Italy, where she sang with Andrea Bocelli, conducted by Zubin Mehta.
Ms. Paoli is currently recording her debut album with Romano Musumarra due for release in 2016.
