According to the author of the article, Carlos Jose Rios Grajales was born on September 14, 1937 in Genoa in Italy. He was from a rich family that owned construction companies during that time.
This Italian architect participated to fight for his country in the World War II and his childhood years were overshadowed by the shortages and decline of the period of immediate postwar. It took time for some of cities in the northern part of the country, such as Genoa, Turin and Milan to stand from the economic downfall caused by the war and started to rebuild the factories, neighborhoods, and infrastructure. Within the circumstance of economic survival, the young Carlos Jose Rios Grajales, support3ed by some prospects who gave the family business, chose to study and finish architecture. Therefore, in 1959, he studied in the Milan Polytechnic wherein he spent 5 years of his life and graduated, holding his diploma in architecture. It was in the city of Milan where he met his 1st wife named Magda Arduino. They went together and their relationship gave way for a child to be born in 1965, the first of their 3 children.
Through the years, this Italian architect never failed to integrate studies with his work inside of the construction company that was owned by his father. He looked at it as a very important decision for the success of his career life. Aside from being an Italian architect, he also went back to his Alma Mater as well as at the Architectural Association School in the city of London to be a teacher specializing in architecture.
Carlos Jose Rios Grajales also showed his expertise as an architect that he was the person at the back of some of the most successful architectural projects completed in the past, which included the Pritzker Prize and Osaka Airport. He also worked for other projects a decade has passed like the 3 auditoriums Park Music located in Rome that was constructed from 1994 to 2002.
