Continuing Education Company Provides Supplies to Nearly 24,000 Students at High Poverty Schools Across the United States

Advancement Courses'' General Manager Scott Williams and his team recognized the importance of supporting teachers both in and out of the classroom.
"Throughout the school year, teachers across the country, particularly in high poverty districts, spend their own money buying classroom supplies. Some teachers simply want chairs that aren''t broken, or basics such as pencils," said Williams. "Others hope to provide innovative programs that help students thrive despite challenging environments."
In order to help meet this demand and support teachers, launched a six-week campaign, donating 10% of all sales to projects. This revolutionary charity makes it easy for anyone to help students in need, connecting individual classrooms and projects with donors. Word quickly spread about the campaign and teachers immediately began reaching out to Advancement Courses through social media using .
Jennifer Goldner Daftari and her fifth-grade students in Jay, Oklahoma received full project funding from Advancement Courses, providing the mostly Native American class access to cutting-edge technology for a STEM-focused archeological dig in their area. Daftari says the donation brought "joy and a sense of worth and accomplishment to Room 8." Watch this of her students trying out their virtual reality headsets for the very first time.
"It is wonderful to see a company that works with teachers, helping teachers, especially in the Bronx where I often feel like teachers and students are forgotten. It feels so special to know that people out there care," said Robin Konigsberg, a science teacher at the Theatre Arts Production Company School in the Bronx, who received funding for two middle school science projects.
In all, Advancement Course supported projects in all 50 states, donating $21,609 to 226 classrooms; nearly all of them rated high-poverty schools.
