5th Anniversary of Pitch Competition Shatters Fundraising Records, More Than Doubling Award Pool
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/05/15 -- Social Venture Partners (SVP) today announced the semifinalists in its Fast Pitch social-impact innovation competition. The 28 semifinalists, including eight in high school and college, are vying for more than $400,000 in grants, investments, and prizes. These entrepreneurs are honing five-minute pitches for their outstanding social-change ideas on their way to the Final Showdown at McCaw Hall on October 27. (Tickets are still available!)
SVP Fast Pitch launched in 2011 and awarded $175,000 in grants and investments. Through the generous support of community members large and small, the 5th annual award pool has grown to $400,000 in 2015.
SVP Fast Pitch Seattle 2015 connects social innovators and entrepreneurs with business, philanthropic, and nonprofit leaders who want to help them amplify their impact. Through the five-month program, nonprofit, for-profit and student innovators hone their ideas and messages through workshops, pitch clinics, networking events and mentoring. At the same time, they build relationships with advisors, donors, investors and partners.
The semifinalists have advanced through a series of elimination rounds evaluating their plans and presentations in the key areas of societal impact, innovation, organizational sustainability, leadership, and, of course, pitching. A full list of semi-finalists can be found here:
The semifinalists will compete again on Wednesday, October 7th. The top 10 nonprofit or for-profit presenters, as well as four student teams, will earn the opportunity to present in a fast-pitch format on the big stage at Seattle''s McCaw Hall on October 27th in front of 1,000 of their closest friends.
The Final Showdown will be judged by distinguished leaders in business, investment and community affairs from the Puget Sound region. At the same time, the audience will participate through text message voting to select the most innovative program and the best pitch. Tickets are on sale now at with a portion of the ticket price donated to the competing social innovators.
