Craft Labor Survey Shows 60% of U.S. Respondents Expect Journeymen Wage Increase This Quarter, an Industrial Info News Alert

Participants in the survey worked in all of the tracked by Industrial Info. Most participants (44.6%) worked on both capital and maintenance projects, followed by 37.2% who exclusively worked on maintenance projects, and 14.6% who worked capital construction only.

In the U.S., the highest concentration of travelers appears to be in the Southeast and Southwest market regions: 43% of respondents in the Southeast and 40% from the Southwest indicated that their workforce included more than 20% travelers.

About 60% of U.S. respondents indicated that they expected a wage increase for journeymen crafts of at least 2% next quarter. Fifteen percent of respondents in the Southwest and Midwest market regions expected overall journeymen wage increases of 6% or more.
