New Report Reveals Progress Against Obesity Epidemic
In an ongoing effort to support the recent progress in the fight against the US epidemic of obesity and the latest news about health and nutrition, BioMazing Remedies has released the following free report. Read more here.
(firmenpresse) - The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, NHANES, a program consisting of interview and physical exam research evaluation of the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the United States, recently published a new study, reporting that the rise in the obesity epidemic in the US may be slowing or leveling off. But, this hopeful news also comes with a downside; although Americans have been cutting calories, they are not consuming enough calories from healthy sources.
This research evaluated the height and weight measurements for 5,926 civilians, noninstitutionalized US men, and women, and found that €œthe prevalence of obesity was 35.5% among adult men and 35.8% among adult women, with no significant change compared with 2003-2008." This new data was also compared to a previous study, which spanned almost a decade and showed a significant rise in the distribution of Body Mass Index in participants.
Barry Popkin, a professor of global nutrition at the University of North Carolina, expressed his mixed reaction to these new findings, saying €œWe have slightly cut our calories €“ but we still consume over half our calories from the wrong foods." Dr. Walter Willett, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health agrees, €œWe have got all the mileage we can out of [cutting] trans fats, but there is huge potential for increasing whole grains and fruits and vegetables and we could gain a lot by cutting back more in red meat."
A representative for BioMazing Remedies responded to the news in a statement:
€œIt is hopeful evidence that public health efforts may have made an impact on reducing the US epidemic of obesity -- which is a leading risk factor for so many health related issues. However, simply cutting calories is a small part of the solution. Calories serve a purpose in fueling the body and providing it with the basic building blocks needed for overall optimum health. Lowering calorie intake in a natural way and consuming a healthy diet, and using available resources to our advantage is key."
