MSC Technologies introduces COM Express Type 6 Starterkit for Modules with Intel Atom BayTrail and Braswell Processors
(PresseBox) - MSC Technologies, a business unit of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), presents the COM Express? Starterkit MSC C6-SK-BT-EV-KIT001 for Type 6 modules based on the Intel Atom E3800 (?BayTrail?) and related Celeron processors as well as modules equipped with the new Intel Celeron and Pentium N3000 (?Braswell?) processors.
The Starterkit features the new COM Express Type 6 carrier board in the Mini-ITX form factor, two SO-DIMM memory modules, heat sink and suitable power supply. Along with a COM Express Type 6 module MSC C6C-BT or MSC C6C-BW (which is not included in the kit to leave the user the choice of processor performance and additional features), the Starterkit is a complete solution to immediately start evaluation of or development with COM Express Type 6 modules based on the BayTrail or Braswell processor families.
The universal Mini-ITX baseboard provides the COM Express socket for Type 6 modules in the Compact and Basic form factors, and is loaded with I/O connectors and other functionality to allow access to the most popular interface features: PCIe x1, SATA, USB 3.0 and 2.0, GbE LAN, LPC, UART, GPIO and HD Audio. Various graphics outputs are available: VGA, DisplayPort, embedded DisplayPort (eDP) and LVDS, along with an adjustable backlight power and dimming output for LCD panels. The board comes with a PCI Express Mini card socket for functional extension and an SD Card slot.
The Starterkit can be used with all COM Express Type 6 modules based on the Intel BayTrail and Braswell processors, of which MSC is offering a large family of variants featuring different processor choices (BayTrail single-core E3815, dual-core E3825, 3826 and 3827, quad-core E3845 or Celeron J1900 and N2930; Braswell dual-core N3000 and 3050, quad-core N3150 and 3700) and interface sets (3x or 5x PCIe x1, 1x or 4x USB 3.0).
The COM Express Starterkit MSC C6-SK-BT-EV-KIT001 for BayTrail and Braswell based Type 6 modules is available immediately.
