Golden West College Builds New Criminal Justice Center

(firmenpresse) - IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/01/15 -- with is proud to announce the commencement of design and construction of the Criminal Justice Training Center at in Huntington Beach, California.

The new $21 million Criminal Justice Training Center will replace the existing outdated facility, bringing a new state-of-the-art training complex to the College. The two-story, 38,932-gross-square-foot building is comprised of an eastern and western wing connected by a spacious atrium lobby at the building''s main entry. The eastern wing''s first floor is dedicated to academy classrooms and more active training spaces including a self-defense mat room, a force simulation training room, a fitness lab, and locker rooms. The second story provides classrooms for both academy students and the general student population. The building''s west wing houses the academy''s administrative functions as well as a multi-purpose room for academy, campus, and community use.

A protected outdoor courtyard will serve a wide variety of training needs with a "Grinder" drill area, a "Biddle" obstacle course, a pullover scenario road, a park scenario lab, infrastructure for a dedicated scenario lab, and a recruit break area. The Academy honors fallen officers with a prominent memorial at the building''s entry.
