International Market Volatility Took Its Toll on Affluent Investor Confidence in August According to the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI(R))
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 09/01/15 -- Concerns among affluent investors about the health of international markets drove the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) down two points in August to 9. During the same period, the Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) ticked upward two points to 17, an 11-month high, but registered a slower increase from the nine-point gain it achieved the previous month.
The indices, compiled by Spectrem Group, a market research and consulting firm specializing in the affluent and retirement markets, measure the investment confidence and outlook of the 16MM households in America with more than $500,000 of investable assets (SAICI), and those with $1MM or more (SMICI). This month''s survey was conducted between August 14th and the 20th.
The survey reveals that millionaires are generally more confident investors than their non-millionaire counterparts. Solid domestic economic reports in August helped to steady the SMICI. But affluent investors indicate that they remain focused on international problems, primarily in Greece and China
