(firmenpresse) - DRESDEN, GERMANY -- (Marketwired) -- 08/04/15 -- ZMD AG (ZMDI), an award-winning global semiconductor company headquartered in Dresden, Germany, and specializing in enabling energy-efficient digital power and sensing solutions, today announces a 10 mio USD licensing agreement with Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR) to enable the expansion of their Enpirion Power Management offering through the licensing of ZMDI''s world-leading power management technology to focus on advanced digital control power ICs. This licensing signed by Altera, (a subsidiary of Intel, which acquired Altera in June 2015) recognizes ZMDI''s digital power technology as the most advanced and forward-looking in the market today.
"ZMDI digital power solutions have been achieving recognition from many customers and most recently via an award with a leading producer of base stations for being the best solution in the market, and we are excited that Altera is not only buying our power products but has also licensed the technology from ZMDI to complement their expansive power portfolio and increase the capabilities and adaptability of their Enpirion power products to address the needs of high-performance FPGAs and SoC FPGAs," said Thilo von Selchow, CEO of ZMDI.
