Harper Government Promotes Business Development and Growth in North Vancouver

Today, Andrew Saxton, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for North Vancouver, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced $420,000 in funding for the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) to establish an economic development program.
With this funding, provided through the Western Diversification Program, the Chamber will undertake a three-year program that will help North Vancouver businesses leverage opportunities that exist in North Vancouver. The program will be governed by an industry-led stakeholder group in a planned and integrated framework.
Through this process, the program will provide a variety of business services to support existing businesses and attract new enterprises, including connecting business to local supply chains; working with stakeholders to reduce barriers to business; providing information on growth and start-up opportunities; creating skills development and training programs; promoting trade and investment; and, engaging the community to support economic expansion.
