HEATCONVERT AND TRIOGEN PARTNER TO ACCELERATE ORC DEPLOYMENT USING INNOVATIVE FINANCING MODELS
(firmenpresse) - Goor, The Netherlands, July 14th 2015.
Triogen B.V. and HeatConvert Coöperatief U.A. are pleased to announce that they have extended their financing partnership to accelerate the adoption of Triogen’s ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) technology in Western Europe. HeatConvert has been operating two Triogen ORCs for the last five years and recently raised additional equity from a group of international investors to implement its build-own-operate model in residual heat-to-power projects. HeatConvert will use these funds to deploy additional Triogen ORCs to fully benefit from the attractive returns available in the European residual heat markets. Part of the funding will be used to finance a project for two ORCs on a biogas plant in Belgium which is currently under construction.
HeatConvert offers a full build-own-operate model and co-financing structures to heat source owners interested in realizing the economic benefits of the ORC, but who would like to reserve financing capacity for core processes or have financing constraints. Through the partnership with Triogen, HeatConvert customers can benefit from performance monitoring and maintenance, engineering and design expertise as well as full project management. The economics of the ORCs are shared based on the level of investment by parties, offering heat-source owners a low risk introduction to ORC technology.
Alexander van Os, director of HeatConvert states: “We see substantial potential to fund ORC projects in various European countries. Based on the solid track record of the installed fleet, we believe HeatConvert can offer customers attractive financing options that allow them to realize the benefits of an ORC without the need to deploy significant amounts of capital. This is a sustainable business model that can be built upon as more opportunities arise.”
“We are very pleased with HeatConvert’s growth plan. We believe that our cooperation in the last five years is the solid basis for HeatConvert’s expansion” says Henning von Barsewisch, CEO of Triogen. With over 30 installations, ½ million operating hours and a record efficiency of 18%, Triogen leads the field of sub 200kW ORCs. Applications are typically behind stationary power generating engines (biogas, landfill gas, mine gas, diesel engines etc.) and in combination with biomass furnaces.
