prkng: A New App for Free and Paid Parking

prkng, a Montreal-based start-up, just launched a new mobile solution to facilitate parking for drivers in urban centers. The prkng mobile app lets users see authorized parking spaces nearby, as well as provides the neighbourhood-specific parking rules and regulations for the current week. Users can also check-in their location to receive a notification when they need to move their car to avoid getting a ticket.
The app was launched on July 6 in Montreal and Quebec City, and will be available in several other North-American cities in the future.
By fall 2015, prkng users will be allowed to reserve and pay for parking spaces from privately-owned lots on their phone, thanks to partnerships with Montreal pay-per-use lot owners. This upcoming feature will be introduced to all cities where the app will be available.
