Media Advisory: Army to Hold 24-Hour Endurance Race in Niagara
(firmenpresse) - NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/02/15 -- Media are invited to watch the soldiers of 32 Canadian Brigade Group compete in one of the Army''s most grueling endurance contests, Exercise ULTRA NIAGARA on the July 4-5 weekend in and around Niagara Falls.
Teams of soldiers from the Brigade, the Canadian Army formation in Toronto and the Niagara Region, will be competing along a 100-kilometre course - a relay march in full fighting order, carrying up to 25 kilograms on their backs for 24 hours. At the same time, military and civilian ultra-marathon competitors will be running on the same course.
When: The first soldiers step off at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2015. The last marchers will cross the finish line by 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2015.
Where: Event headquarters, as well as the start and finish line, are all at Fireman`s Park, 2275 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls, Ont.
What: Canadian Army soldiers compete in a 24-hour relay march, while military and civilian runners compete in an ultra-marathon on the same course.
