(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/23/15 -- At The Aesthetic Institute of Chicago, board-certified plastic surgeons and strive to remain at the forefront of the ever-advancing field of cosmetic surgery. As part of this mission, the two physicians are quick to adopt the latest, most innovative aesthetic treatments that have proven to achieve excellent results both safely and effectively. One such procedure that Drs. Cobbins and Braithwaite offer is -- a revolutionary technique that can be utilized to improve the volume, contour, and overall appearance of several different areas of the face and body.
According to a recent blog post on the Chicago plastic surgeons'' website, "" The article goes on to mention additional can include no allergy testing prior to treatment, minimal discomfort, long-lasting -- often permanent -- results, and body contouring in the area from which fat was transferred.
To perform the procedure, Dr. Braithwaite explains that will first be employed to extract fat from an area of the body that has a sufficient amount of fatty tissue present. Once removed, he says the fat will be filtered, purified, and reinjected into the patient''s targeted area(s) of concern using a sterilized needle. To account for the fact that approximately 30%-40% of transferred fat will be reabsorbed by the body, Dr. Braithwaite notes that extra fat will typically be injected in order to obtain optimal results.
In comparison to some other injectables and fillers, the rejuvenative and volumizing effects of fat grafting are generally very long-lasting, says Dr. Cobbins. In fact, she continues, outcomes achieved through fat transfer can last several years, if not permanently. Additionally, results tend to both look and feel exceptionally natural, she adds.
Ultimately, fat grafting may not be a good option for every individual, which is why Dr. Braithwaite and Dr. Cobbins stress the importance of consulting a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience with this advanced technique. By doing so, they say prospective patients can find out if they are indeed a good candidate for fat transfer, or if another procedure may be better suited for their unique needs and goals.
