REMINDER/Media Advisory: Environment Ministers to Meet in Winnipeg, Manitoba
(firmenpresse) - WINNIPEG, MANITOBA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/22/15 -- The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) will meet in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 22-23, 2015. Climate change will be the main topic of their meeting. Discussions will focus on preparations for the United Nations Conference scheduled for Paris, France in December; jurisdictions'' current and upcoming actions; and future federal, provincial and territorial cooperation on climate change. Ministers will also discuss a range of other issues, including waste reduction, air pollution, and environmental spills preparedness and response.
CCME is made up of environment ministers from each of the provinces, territories and the Government of Canada. The current president of CCME, the Honourable Tom Nevakshonoff, Manitoba''s Minister of Conservation and Water Stewardship, will host the meeting, which will be held in the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg.
There will be a photo opportunity for members of the media at 11:45 am CDT on June 23, 2015. At the close of the meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 12:30 pm CDT, CCME will issue a communique and hold a news conference.
