The upward trend continues: 7, 25% increase in production of EPAL pallets in Q1 2015
(PresseBox) - EPAL Euro pallets'' significant upward trend, which had already begun last year with an increase of 3% in the production figures, is continuing. In the first quarter of 2015, 7, 25% more EPAL pallets were produced than in the equivalent period in 2014. That''s 1.15 million more new EPAL Euro pallets than in the first quarter of 2014. The number of licensees also increased considerably in the first quarter of 2015: From 1,478 in the first quarter of 2014 to 1,520 in 2015. Both developments reflect the high level of acceptance that EPAL Euro pallets have in the market.
Martin Leibrandt, CEO of the European Pallet Association e.V., said of the figures for the current quarter: "I''m very pleased with this positive development, and I assume that the positive trend will continue in the coming quarters."
The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) was founded in 1991 as the umbrella association of licensed producers and repairers of EPAL/EUR-pallets and box pallets. EPAL is globally responsible for the consistent quality of the EPAL load carriers and therefore uses an independent external quality inspection service. EPAL has been granting exclusive licenses for the production and repair of Euro pallets with the "EPAL in oval" branded marking on four corner blocks since 1st August 2013. EPAL is currently represented in more than thirty countries by fourteen National Committees which have committed themselves to implementing the EPAL objectives on a national basis. As a registered association, EPAL does not pursue any commercial interests and makes all its decisions in the interests of its industry, trade and logistics partners.
