"Our Government is proud to invest in commemorative projects that help our communities mark significant events in their history. These anniversaries bring Canadians together, strengthen our communities and allow us to take pride in our shared past."

-The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages

"This is an important milestone for the Village of Oil Springs. With this investment, residents will have an opportunity to come together and celebrate it, as well as have a lasting reminder of their past. I am very pleased that the Government of Canada was able to contribute to this important historical anniversary, and I wish Oil Springs and its residents the best on this significant occasion."

-Pat Davidson, Member of Parliament (Sarnia-Lambton)

"On behalf of the Mayor and Council of the Village of Oil Springs, I would like to thank Canadian Heritage for their support and recognition of the Village of Oil Springs turning 150 years old since incorporation in 1865. With this grant money, the Village of Oil Springs Council will give back to the community to help celebrate this amazing milestone by putting on family-orientated events, as well as by creating the legacy project at the municipal park that will pay tribute to the 150 years of mayors/reeves who kept this municipality moving forward to where we are today. We look forward to working with the federal government in the future."

-Larry Wagner, Councillor, Village of Oil Springs
