Aeroports de Montreal Hails the Adoption of Bill 38
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 06/12/15 -- Aeroports de Montreal (ADM) applauds the adoption of Bill 38 authorizing the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec to conduct major public transit infrastructure projects in partnership with the Government of Quebec.
"With the adoption of Bill 38, another crucial step has been taken toward establishing a fast, reliable and efficient public transit system to serve Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport and the West Island," ADM President and Chief Executive Officer James Cherry stated enthusiastically.
"Because of this new way of carrying out and financing projects, we are confident that our new proposal, inspired by the success of Vancouver''s Canada Line and developed jointly with the Societe de transport de Montreal and the Societe quebecoise des infrastructures, can move forward quickly," Mr. Cherry added. "As we have already said, the Caisse can count on ADM''s full co-operation at every stage of the project."
ADM submitted a brief during consultations on the bill. The brief is available on ADM''s website. The system proposed by ADM is an electric light transit (LRT) which can be combined with that of the South Shore to form a single network.
