Harper Government Invests in Canadian Sheep Industry
(firmenpresse) - GUELPH, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/12/15 -- Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)
Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga, Harold Albrecht on behalf of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz today announced an investment of $348,090 which will enable the Canadian Sheep Federation (CSF) to combine sheep and lamb production assurance systems under the nationally recognized Food Safe Farm Practices (FSFP) Program.
This support will allow the Canadian Sheep Federation to integrate the National Sheep Biosecurity Standard and the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Sheep into the FSFP. This will provide assurances that sheep and lamb have been raised under an integrated farm program that addresses food safety, biosecurity and animal care.
