Seven organizations in the Central and Northern Interior of British Columbia got a boost today when Dick Harris, Member of Parliament (Cariboo-Prince George), announced a total of $10,766 in funding to support National Aboriginal Day, Canadian Multicultural Day, Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, and Canada Day celebrations. Mr. Harris made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
This investment, provided through the program, will enable these organizations to offer their residents engaging cultural programming, as well as opportunities to learn about Canada''s history and heritage. In 2014, the Government of Canada invested in more than 1,600 projects and events across the country under the auspices of the Celebrate Canada program.
