Michael Simm is the new member of the printing blanket team at ContiTech Elastomer Coatings in Northeim. As the Area Manager, the 52-year-old is responsible for sales of the enhanced glass bead blanket Black Pearl.
Michael Simm is an acknowledged expert in the printing industry. Having trained to be a type setter and photo setter, he is also qualified as a certified print technician. Following positions with renowned packaging printers and in the graphical supplies industry, he worked for eleven years as sales manager Europe-wide for the Hesse-based printing blanket manufacturer Streb. On December 1, 2014, he took over sales of the glass bead blanket Black Pearl at ContiTech. In this function he reports directly to Dr. Thomas Perkovic, head of the printing blanket segment. ContiTech manufactures the glass bead printing blanket for security printing, high-quality film embossing (hot film/cold film) as well as for sheet-fed printing. The unique material is now available for direct sales to customers all over the world.
"Taking up this position at ContiTech has brought things full circle for me," Michael Simm says. "I worked in the graphical industry for many years, advised print shops and graphical trade companies as well as various manufacturers (OEMs) and have now arrived at the beginning of the value chain. I am pleased that I can use my long years of experience in my new position at ContiTech and look forward to providing assistance to our customers from now on."
Simm is married and has a twelve-year-old daughter. In his free time, he enjoys jogging and skiing. He is also a somewhat of a computer nerd: he loves opening up computer casings, fitting new processors and graphics boards and testing their capacity to the limits - he can get just as enthusiastic about these things as about sunny beaches and the ocean during active holidays.
