ID: 1361680

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/27/15 -- The Radio Television Digital News Foundation of Canada (RTDNF) is proud to announce that Dave Albright of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology is the recipient of its 2015 Michael Monty Memorial Award.

The award is presented annually to a broadcast educator nominated by students for special recognition. It bears the name of the late Michael Monty, a long-time teacher at Toronto''s Seneca College. Michael was the master storyteller. His love for his students, his booming voice and hearty laugh, and his passion for the industry were the foundations for the creation of the award.

Dave Albright has been involved with broadcast audio for more than 30 years. His passion for imaging and commercial production led him to a career teaching broadcast media at NAIT in Edmonton for the past 18 years. It''s the same school where he received a diploma in broadcast media! Dave says... "Helping students realize a dream is very rewarding. Their passion and fresh look at life keeps me excited for the future of our media."

The students who nominated Dave for the prestigious RTDNF honour put it best -- "The man has patience and passion. His classes are a joy. Never have I ever been more inspired by one person."

The award is extra special to Dave given that he served with Michael Monty on the Broadcast Educators Association of Canada (BEAC) board of directors. "Michael was an inspirational mentor. His passion to dream big is still reflected in my teaching style. It is an honour to be recognized with the spirit and memory of Michael."

The 2015 Michael Monty Memorial Award will be presented to Dave Albright at the RTDNF luncheon as part of the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) National Conference in Toronto on June 6, 2015.
