Award Recognizes Companies for Rail Car Maintenance and Safety

The award is given annually by CSX to companies for their commitment to safe hazardous material rail car loading and maintenance. Recipients exemplify the best practices of chemical safety, demonstrating a commitment of safety leadership among peers.

To be eligible, a company must ship a minimum of 600 rail cars per year on CSX without a release due to factors such as not securing valves or closures properly. Shippers include companies from the chemicals, fertilizer, agriculture, waste and metals markets.
