Minister Shea Congratulates New Conservation and Protection Officers
Twenty-two new graduates will help ensure the sustainable use of fishery resources for current and future generations

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, today extended her congratulations to the 2015 graduating class of fishery officers and welcomed them to the Conservation and Protection Branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The graduation ceremony was held in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The new fishery officers were required to complete 18 weeks of classroom training, including ten weeks of training on enforcement methods at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The graduates will now join Conservation and Protection field offices across Canada to complete 30 months of practical training.
