Earth Alive Ships Organic Fertilizers to Banelino, an Organic Banana Cooperative in the Dominican Republic
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 05/13/15 -- Earth Alive Clean Technologies (CSE: EAC) ("Earth Alive") is proud to announce that a shipment of sea containers of organic crop inputs is on its way to Banelino, in the Dominican Republic, representing sales of over $200,000.
Founded in 1996, Banelino is a leading organic and fair trade banana cooperative, representing close to 400 producers located in the northwest of the country. "This is exactly the kind of organization we love to work with," stated David Gilmour, CEO of Earth Alive. "They are deeply passionate about sustainability and are recognized around the world for the quality of their product."
"We are looking forward to using Earth Alive''s products on our farms," said Marike de Pena, Banelino''s Director and co-founder, and also the Chair of the Board of Fairtrade International. "The Earth Alive line of products will allow our growers to generate more production from their farms, thus promoting sustainable livelihoods for our members."
Michael Warren Vice President for Earth Alive''s Agriculture Division stated that "Ms. De Pena is an international leader in the organic and Fairtrade communities and we are very happy that her organization is getting behind our Soil Activator product which is at the heart of Earth Alive''s agriculture package".
Soil Activator is a certified organic biofertilizer containing a proprietary blend of naturally-occurring, beneficial microorganisms and an all-natural wood extract. Soil Activator lives in the soil around the plant roots, converting soil minerals and organic matter into easily absorbable nutrients, and promoting the plant''s health and growth.
Banelino will also include in their organic fertilization practices Earth Alive''s Big Blue products which are important sources of trace minerals and plant bio-stimulants, providing a "multivitamin" for the banana crop. Simon Neufeld, Earth Alive''s Chief Agronomist concluded, "Banelino''s vision for their members is sustainable, high-quality crops. Earth Alive''s products are designed to do just that."
The deal with Banelino was concluded using Earth Alive''s financing facilities for exports, arranged through a major Canadian Bank.
