(firmenpresse) - LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 05/11/15 -- International® observed the 45th Annual Earth Day on April 22 and, for the third consecutive year, continued its annual tradition of planting a tree at each of its managed resorts worldwide. As a part of this beautification project, resort team members invited their members, owners and guests, to help them plant a tree on site. This initiative provides a feature that members, owners and their future generations can proudly revisit year after year as they continue to vacation with Diamond Resorts.
This was part of a massive company-wide campaign designed not only to commemorate the day, but to educate and involve team members and their guests in green efforts.
From in Malaga, Spain to in Maui, Hawaii, resorts featured Earth Day activities including making recycled paper and lavender oil, beach clean-up, recycling awareness workshops, scavenger hunts and Earth Day movie showings.
In addition, the company held an Earth Day event at its corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, at which 942 lbs. of e-waste was collected. Additionally, has diverted 245,896 bottles from landfills in 2014 by purchasing eco-friendly uniforms from Cintas.
