ADVISORY: OFL President Sid Ryan to Join OSSTF Protest at London Office of Minister Deb Matthews
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/07/15 -- Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) President Sid Ryan will be joining Thames Valley education workers in a protest at Minister Deb Matthews'' London Constituency Office on Friday, May 8 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The protest is one of many being organized by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers'' Federation (OSSTF) to target every Liberal MPP Constituency Office across the province on the same day.
"High school teachers and staff are standing up for the learning conditions of students across Thames Valley and the entire province. They are saying ''no'' to proposals that would increase class sizes, threaten educational quality and take Ontario''s school system backwards," said Ryan. "Workers across Ontario are rejecting the false choices that the Wynne Government has put before us. Wynne wants to force Ontarians to choose between healthy schools and public transit, municipal infrastructure versus public hydro. She is pitting vital public services against each other in a sort of budgetary ''Hunger Games'' that will make every Ontarian a loser. Today, it is teachers and education workers who are on the front lines in the fight for a better Ontario."
