A Mini-PC for network applications?the spo-book TECH QUAD
A new Mini-PC specially built for use in networks is the latest product from spo-comm. The Nuremberg based manufacturer is making the spo-book TECH QUAD available as of now
(PresseBox) - Throughout the development process, engineers focused primarily on the requirements of customers from trade and industry, who can apply this Mini-PC in a range of areas. Furthermore, the TECH QUAD uses tried and tested standard components making it compatible with a multitude of operating systems and allowing the creation of diverse software solutions.
Michael Sporrer, the director of spo-comm GmbH, is excited about this latest product in his company?s portfolio. ?We constantly receive feedback about our range from our partners, and especially their customers and interested parties. With our new Mini-PC we are responding to the wishes for a computer that accelerates or simplifies special applications.? At the same time Sporrer highlights that the new product is a perfect addition to existing solutions: ?the TECH QUAD fulfils the many demands that are placed on network applications today. With this tailored solution we ensure that day-to-day processes are made easier and optimised.?
For the CPU, the engineers at spo-comm decided on an Intel Quad Core CPU rated at 4x 2.0 GHz. Up to 8 GB of RAM means the memory is readily suited to high demands. Four Gigabit network ports with an Intel controller are key components of the system.
The TECH QUAD from spo-book has a so-called bypass-function on two LAN ports. This makes it possible to implement fault tolerant filters and loggers. The positioning of indicator lights on the front and the various connections on the back makes the Mini-PC suitable for fitting or mounting?its small dimensions 219 x 40 x 151 mm make for easy placement requiring very little space.
The system is passively cooled without using any fans. Furthermore, should the customer decide to replace the conventional hard disk drive with a solid state drive (SSD) then the entire system is free from any mechanical moving parts. Not only does this make silent operation possible, it also means the buyer can enjoy a very long service life.
Its robust metal housing means the TECH QUAD is well suited to any environment. The user can choose from a selection of operating systems - Windows 7 or 8, Windows Embedded as well as Linux. In addition to the previously mentioned 4 Gigabit network connections, the Mini-PC also has two USB 2.0 ports and a USB 3.0 port. There is also the option to include WLAN. Altogether this makes the TECH QUAD perfectly suited to any and all network applications.
