ACH Foam Technologies'' Foam-Control Plus+ EPS Insulation Is Important Ingredient in Mariano''s Market Expansion Into "Food Deserts"

Delivering both high quality and cost-effectiveness, ACH Foam Technologies'' Foam-Control Plus+ expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation is an important ingredient in that expansion.
Mariano''s is known throughout northeastern Illinois for supplying local neighborhoods with fresh, high-quality foods from around the world at affordable prices. To do this, the company continually looks for ways to maximize its capital investment during the construction process.
One way Mariano''s has achieved efficiency in both construction and long-term operations on recent projects is through the incorporation of ACH Foam Technologies'' Foam-Control Plus+ 400 insulation.
Their newest Chicago store is a 70,000-square-foot building with rooftop parking. The split slab construction for the roof deck required an insulation material with a high R-value and high compressive strength. Naturally, they went with ACH Foam Technologies'' Foam-Control Plus+ 400, an architectural grade insulation that costs between 10 and 30 percent less than comparable extruded polystyrene (XPS) solutions and comes with a 50-year R-value warranty, as compared to the 20-year warranty other EPS insulation manufacturers offer. Mariano''s construction team also wanted thicker pieces of insulation, which are available from ACH Foam Technologies, but not typically in XPS products.
Since its release, Foam-Control Plus+ has been used successfully in a wide variety of applications, including perimeter, under-slab, and cavity wall insulation; sheathing; precast concrete applications; green roofs; plaza decks; and waterproofing. It has consistently shown a superior ability to maintain its R-value when exposed to moisture in real-life conditions and because EPS insulation is more permeable than XPS, meaning it releases moisture more easily, Foam-Control Plus+ actually holds its R-value better over the life of the product. ACH Foam Technologies introduced face labeling to the EPS insulation market, and the labeling on a Foam-Control Plus+ panel is extensive, showing UL certification information, ASTM type, compressive strength, R-value, product name, and whether the panel contains termite-resistant treatment or is pre-scored. The first EPS insulation on the market to come pre-scored, Foam-Control Plus+ provides contractors and installers the ability to break apart sections on the jobsite, giving them more flexibility, saving installation time, and reducing jobsite waste. All of these product developments save time and make it easier for distributors to stock product, for contractors to know what they''re paying for, and for specifiers to be assured that the correct product will be delivered to the jobsite.
