Viking Therapeutics, Inc. Announces Closing of Initial Public Offering

("Viking") (NASDAQ: VKTX), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel, first-in-class or best-in-class therapies for metabolic and endocrine disorders, today announced the closing of its initial public offering of an aggregate of 3,000,000 shares of its common stock at an initial offering price to the public of $8.00 per share. The gross proceeds to Viking from the offering were $24 million, before deducting underwriting discounts, commissions and other offering expenses. Viking''s common stock is listed on the NASDAQ Capital Market under the trading symbol "VKTX."
Laidlaw & Company (UK) Ltd. acted as the sole book-running manager for the offering. Feltl and Company, Inc. served as co-manager for the offering.
A registration statement relating to the securities sold in the offering was declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission on April 28, 2015.
