Starheim Joins CFC as Senior Vice President
(firmenpresse) - DULLES, VA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/01/15 -- The National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) announced today that Gregory Starheim will join CFC''s senior leadership team as a senior vice president focusing on industry development and the electric cooperative network. Starheim currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Kenergy Corp., based in Henderson, Kentucky.
"We are delighted to have Greg join us. He brings extensive electric cooperative leadership and energy industry experience to CFC," CEO Sheldon C. Petersen said.
In his leadership role, Starheim will focus on the evolving electric utility industry and ensuring that CFC is strategically aligned to best meet the needs of its electric utility members. As the cooperative network prepares for the future, CFC will continue its role as a collaborative partner, contributing to the leadership and vision that empowers electric cooperatives.
"Greg''s experience and knowledge will assure that CFC continues to develop the business tools and services that our electric utility members need to ensure their success," Petersen added.
In addition to more than 13 years in the electric cooperative network-first as CEO and general manager of Delaware County Electric Cooperative, Delhi, New York, and then Kenergy Corporation-Starheim worked for more than 14 years at General Electric Company (GE). With GE, he held various positions including Corporate Research and Development Director, and engineer in the Plastics and Power Systems divisions of the company.
Starheim has been actively involved in the electric cooperative network over the years serving as a member of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association''s Cooperative Research Network advisory council, board member of the National Information Solutions Cooperative, and board member and officer of the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives (KAEC).
He has an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and an A.A.S. in Engineering Science from Mohawk Valley Community College.
