Spring 2015 PMB results prove once again that Group TVA magazines are unbeatable both in Quebec and in English Canada.
TVA Publications consolidates its leadership position in Quebec and becomes a major player in English Canada
French titles now reach over 3.8 million readers per month, making TVA Publications the undisputed leader in the Quebec market. In terms of English titles, the TVA Publications portfolio reaches more than 6.7 million readers from coast to coast. Nearly two-thirds of the top 20 magazines in Quebec carry the TVA Publications2 banner.
The seven weekly magazines reach 2.3 million unique readers every month (1 million every week) in Quebec. Thanks to its many exclusive features, 7 jours weekly magazine is the most read, racking up close to 1.2 million readers every month.
With two of the three major fashion magazines in Quebec, TVA Publications is the source of inspiration for close to 950,000 fashionistas, representing 90% of the readers in that category.
TVA Publications is now the leader and the only publisher (PMB audited) of home/decoration magazines in Quebec with Les idees de ma maison, Decormag, Chez Soi and Fleurs, Plantes et Jardins. It''s where nearly 1 million readers get their best ideas every month. TVA Publications is also positioning itself as the leading player in the same category on the English side with 2.4 million readers every month for Style at Home and Canadian Gardening magazines.
Quebec''s most celebrated top performers3
Fully half of the 10 most-read magazines in Quebec (readers per edition) are produced by TVA Publications. Coup de pouce, Clin d''oeil, Le Bel Age, Elle Quebec and 7 jours are time after time the favourite magazines of Quebecers. At the very top of the hits, is Coup de pouce lifestyle magazine, the most-read magazine in Quebec with 964,000 readers every month, up a full 5%. In the same category, Moi & cie continues the momentum it has enjoyed since its launch five years ago with a readership increase of 6%.
With a readership increase of 5%, and for the first time in five years, Clin d''oeil has become the most-read magazine for Quebec fashion and style fanatics. In the home/decoration slot Les idees de ma maison remains Quebec''s No. 1 reference by far with 493,000 readers each month.
YOOPA was also a stand-out! For the very first time in its young career, it became the most-consulted magazine by Quebec parents with 146,000 monthly readers.
The latest PMB results also show how much teens continue to love their magazines. Case in point: Cool!, the only magazine targeting the next generation of Quebec consumers, saw its readership climb by 3%. Similar signs of enthusiasm with the latest generation of retirees: Le Bel Age enjoyed a readership increase of 1%.
Solidly positioned in English Canada4
Five of the top six English magazines in Canada with more than 1 million readers per edition are published by TVA Publications: Canadian Living, Canadian Gardening, Style at Home, The Hockey News and Elle Canada. Canadian Living is the No. 1 women''s lifestyle magazine in the country with more than 3 million readers every month. It''s also the magazine with the largest circulation (copies sold), at more than 505,000.5
And when it comes to fashion, Elle Canada is the killer queen of the catwalk with more than 1.3 million readers per month. It''s the most-read magazine with female Millennials (18-24 years) and female Generation Xers (35-54 years).
The favourite of hockey fans, The Hockey News is also the most popular sports magazine in the country with over 1.4 million readers every month.
